What is “Be the Change”?
Be the Change is an innovative online course consisting of 9 modules designed to equip youth workers with the knowledge and tools to introduce social entrepreneurship to young people in an engaging and interactive way. Developed within the international project Be the Change, this course provides ready-to-use exercises and practical knowledge to inspire the next generation of changemakers for free.
The course was created as part of the KA2 partnership project Be the Change, an initiative aimed at developing educational resources to promote social entrepreneurship among young people living in small towns and rural areas. It was implemented by Zarika Association (Bulgaria), Zavod Aspira (Slovenia), and ICAD Foundation (Poland), with support and co-funding from the European Union. Hosted on Zarika Courses, this free resource is accessible to youth workers across Europe and beyond.
The curriculum covers essential topics, including:
- Personal strengths, talents, and values
- Entrepreneurial soft skills (communication, teamwork, leadership)
- Understanding social business models
- Needs analysis and community impact
- Idea generation and prototyping
- Project management and sustainability
- Financial literacy and funding sources
- Marketing, storytelling, and pitching

We aim to make Be the Change even more impactful by expanding its reach and adapting it to different needs. Your support will enable us to:

- Children under 13 – an engaging, age-appropriate version introducing social entrepreneurship concepts early on.
- Young people aged 13-18 – a version tailored for teenagers, helping them develop entrepreneurial skills and social awareness.
- Young adults aged 18-30 – advanced content focusing on practical application, project development, and career-building in social entrepreneurship.
- Women-focused training – tailored content to empower women entrepreneurs and changemakers.
- Industry-specific versions – focusing on areas like environmental sustainability, social innovation, or local community projects.
- Translate the course into Bulgarian and other languages, ensuring accessibility to a wider audience and removing language barriers.
- Develop hybrid learning experiences by incorporating in-person workshops and activities, creating a blended learning approach that enhances engagement and practical application.
